Nice View

I took this photo on Memorial Day weekend, 2004 after my wife and I hiked the trails to the top of Chimney Rock. If you're looking for a place to day trip I recommend Lake Lure area. There are good park and picnic areas, boat cruises of the lake, and lots of scenic homes and cabins for rent if you want to stay a few days.
This is an area that isn't too crowded.

Have a good day.

Just thinking to myself as I look at this photo with the beautiful scenery, "America is truly a beautiful place to live." Then I wondered what you must think when you look at a scenery like that. I can look at a photo like this and think about how beautiful America is and how majestic the flag looks waving high above. But I'm sure that veteran's such as yourself have a much, much deeper insight than that. Unfortunately, us younger generation for the most part have no clue as to what it really means to see the beautiful flag waving, and no perception of the cost that was paid to enable the freedom to keep it there.
